Trunking Capable, Trunking Options:
Simulcast Conventional
Increase range in difficult RF environments with Simulcast Conventional. Simulcast Conventional uses one frequency for a for all subscriber units. The one frequency keeps signals strong in overlapping areas, this also eliminates the need for scanning, voting, and roaming. The UC-FR5300 board and CF-FR5300SC card are required to work with simulcast, simulcast only works with the FR5300.
Multi-site Conventional Systems
Inserting the CF-FR5000 02 card into the UC-FR5300 board, the UC and repeaters increase their capabilities to include multi-site conventional operation. Multi-site conventional systems connect conventional repeaters using an IP network to merge geographically distributed repeaters and operate them as one, or allow UHF and VHF repeaters to share traffic in a crossover configuration. This is ideal for operations that can merge multiple talk sites into one. Industries such as construction, mining, education, transportation and logistics would benefit.
Multisite Conventional systems are possible with IDAS™ LINQ™. Choose from four configurations:
- LINQ™REPEAT
- LINQ™REPEAT+
- LINQ™VOTE
- LINQ™VOTE+.
Single Site Trunking
The UC-FR5300 board and CF-FR5000MT card in a repeater can be configured to a voting receiver, which is best for radios that cannot reach transmitters in areas of poor coverage. Once a signal is received at the voter, it is then transferred via IP to the repeater which then transmits the strongest signal. Voting allows the extension of indoor or underground communication which would benefit industries such as education, healthcare and hospitality.
Multi-site Trunking - Mulit-TrunK™
Installing and programming a UC-FR5300 board into the FR5300 repeater can transform the FR5300 from a conventional repeater into a trunked repeater system for a single site. Any IDAS™ subscriber digital radios are ready to operate on conventional or trunked digital radios for easy configuration choice. Single Site Trunking is ideal for a large area of operation with multiple groups and users.
Other FR5300 | FR6300 Features:
- Double Channel Capacity
IDAS doubles the capacity of the current 12.5kHz channel allocation. The IDAS system occupies only 6.25kHz spacing per channel. With the improved sensitivity of narrow band communications, increased communication greater than 12.5kHz analog mode can be achieved. Icom allows you to meet any narrow banding requirements today, and provides a solution to any future spectrum deficiencies.
- Digital and Analog Mixed Mode Operation
The IC-FR5300 | FR6300 can receive both analog and digital signals on a single channel. You can partially introduce the IDAS system, while using the existing analog radios in a system. The IDAS system allows you to scale migration to narrow band digital at your own pace and need.
- Superior Audio Quality
The IDAS system uses the AMBE+2™ codec, which provides clear audio and simultaneous data communication. The built-in audio compander improves the signal to noise ratio and provide clear audio. The Compander is for analog mode only, digital mode does not require Compander since digital communication quality is superior to anaolog by nature.
- 19-inch Rack Mount 2U Height Low-Profile Design
The IC-FR5300 | FR6300 uses only 2U height. This low profile configuration allows you to stack multiple units in an industry standard 19-inch rack and provides great space efficiency.
- 50W Output at 50% Duty Cycle, 25W at 100% Duty Cycle Operation
Employing a high stability ±0.5ppm oscillator and high performance power amplifier, the IC-FR5300 series provides a reliable 100% duty cycle operation at 25W output. When operated at the high power setting of 50W, the repeater operates with a 50% duty cycle.
- Multiple CTCSS, DTCS Tone and RAN Code
The IC-FR5300 | FR6300 decodes multiple CTCSS and DTCS as well as digital RAN (Radio Access Number) codes on a per channel basis (up to 16 tones/codes) and downlinks the received signal with a specified tone/code. This function is useful for sharing a channel with multiple groups and provides quiet stand-by while using other groups.
- Superior Receiver Performance
The IC-FR5300 series has class leading receiver performance of selectivity and intermodulation rejection. It improves the quality of the repeater service even under congested band conditions.
- D-SUB 25-pin Accessory Connector
The IC-FR5300 series has a programmable D-SUB 25-pin accessory connector for connecting various trunking controllers or external remote control devices. Also, modulation / demodulation signals can be input / output from the D-SUB connector.
- Low voltage alert
- DTMF encoder/decoder
- 5-Tone decoder* (For analog mode only)
- PTT priority setting (Local Microphone, external PTT or repeater operation)
- CW ID transmitter
- RC-FS10 remote communicator software works as a simple dispatch station to communicate with radio terminals through the repeater
- Receiver voting function improves talkback capability of radio terminals in the field
- 19-inch rack mount 2U height low profile

Radio Programming Options
The following does not apply to FRS, MURS, GMRS, LTE, Satellite, or IP radios.
Most business radios aren't ready to use out-of-the-box. So radio programming is needed to set the frequencies in the radio. For some radios the frequencies can be set through a menu interface. While other radios must be programmed using a PC, radio software, and a cable to connect the radios.
Here are your programming options:
- We can program your radios - with radio orders
- We provide basic radio programming for radios ordered through us. See the description below of basic radio programming.
- Email us your Frequencies & Call Sign - the FCC requires dealers to verify your license before we program.
- Please allow 1-2 days for first-time setup of radio programming.
- Due to staffing limitations, we are not able to program radios purchased from other dealers.
- Match to your Previous Order
- If you've ordered from us before we have your information stored.
- You can program the radio(s)
- Connect Systems (all models): You can purchase software and cables from us.
- Kenwood ProTalk Business Radios (NX-P1300/NX-P1200 series, TK series, PKT)
- Have pre-stored frequencies and you can easily program these radios through the radio's menu interface.
- Custom frequencies will require dealer programming.
- Icom (all models): Icom no longer allows dealers to sell software and cables over the internet. You may call us to discuss your options.
- Motorola Business Radios (models beginning with CLP. CLS, RM, RD):
- Have pre-stored business frequencies (Part 90). Software to program these radios is available on the Motorola website.
- Just go to the product page on Motorola's website and you can download it for free. We can sell you the cable.
- Custom frequencies will require dealer programming.
- Motorola Commercial Radios (models beginning with CP, CM, MagOne):
- Software to program these can be purchased directly from Motorola. We can sell you the cable.
- Vertex Standard Radios: You can purchase software and cables from us. (some cables have been discontinued)
- If you don't have a FCC license we can help you apply for one.
- These licenses are for businesses, non-profit organizations, local and state government agencies.
- We do all the work! Give us a call at 855-289-2929.
